United Fiberglass Fabric is a woven fiberglass fabric, saturated in asphalt coating. This lightweight fabric offers high tensile strength and will not rot, tear or wear. It is used in the roofing & waterproofing industry for repair and new construction. Meets ASTM D-1668-86 TYPE I* (American Society For Testing Materials) and Federal Spec. HH-C-466
Application
Apply a film of the hot or cold (liquid) applied bitumen adhesive to the surface, then embed United Asphalt’s Asphalt-Saturated Fiberglass Fabric in the adhesive using a broom or brush applying enough pressure to penetrate the mesh openings and surround fabric with adhesive. Ensure the surface is uniformly covered and avoid over-stretching or creating fishmouths. Finally, apply an additional coat of hot or cold (liquid) applied bitumen adhesive to the surface, ensuring that no fabric is visible.
